Changing Faces, Adam Griffiths Development

Written by: Adam Griffiths 7th November 2011 in Personal.

After working as a lone freelancer for three years I have decided to make a small change to my website, whilst I've been working under "Adam Griffiths Development" for at least a year now, my website now reflects the name I use for business. Along with the new branding I have room to expand, as I am continually working with other people on projects now more and more, I feel a more company centric type website is more beneficial. This website and name also helps me lay the foundations for the future, and the possibilities of become a big company and hiring others full time.

I have blogged before about the upsides of working alone, but also documenting the downsides. This new setup with a few select freelancers is great for a bunch of reasons. I still get to be self-employed, which is something I highly enjoy as it allows me to be myself and also helps me work on some really interesting projects. Secondly now I have a bunch of people I can work with on larger projects, I don't have to feel alone in my work. The best part about having extra freelancers to work with is that I am now comfortable providing quotes for larger projects, as I know I can handle bigger projects with the team I am forming.

Back based in Cardiff

After my summer break I am now once again based in Cardiff, I have fallen in love with the Welsh capital after going to University there for a year, and can now call it home. I have also been planning a bunch of applications which fall in line with EventLog to form a sort of developer toolkit. I am working alongside one other developer to build out these applications and I am looking forward to releasing more useful applications for fellow web developers to use.

Another part of living in Cardiff is the technology scene. I already know of a couple of tweet-ups I intend to go to to start being involved with the localised community. Cardiff is a vast city but feels like my hometown of Shrewsbury, everything is all in one area and it's a great place to live.

Planning for the future

Along with the new branding and the new website I am very much looking forward to working on much larger projects than before, organising a global development team and look to the future in hopes of becoming one of the premier web development agencies in Cardiff.
